To help the client remain compliant with local fire safety regulations and maintain normal business operations, our trained fire watch officers provided continuous on-site monitoring until the fire protection system was fully restored.
Client Challenge
With the facility’s automatic fire protection system temporarily out of service, Kanto Corporation was required to implement a fire watch to remain compliant with fire code requirements. The client needed immediate coverage to protect employees, visitors, equipment, and the facility while contractors completed the sprinkler system upgrades. They also required detailed documentation and reliable personnel who could quickly identify and report potential fire hazards without disrupting daily operations.

Our fire watch officers were responsible for:
- Conducting continuous interior and exterior patrols of the facility.
- Monitoring for fire hazards, smoke, and other unsafe conditions.
- Ensuring emergency exits and evacuation routes remained accessible.
- Maintaining detailed fire watch logs in accordance with fire code requirements.
- Immediately notifying emergency services and facility management if a fire or hazardous condition was detected.
- Coordinating with the client and contractors throughout the sprinkler system upgrade process.
Results
The facility remained compliant with fire watch requirements throughout the sprinkler system upgrade, allowing construction work and normal business operations to continue without interruption. Continuous monitoring, detailed documentation, and proactive hazard identification helped protect employees, visitors, and company assets while reducing the risk of fire-related incidents. Once the upgraded fire protection system was placed back into service, the fire watch was successfully concluded with no reported safety incidents during the coverage period.
